California Launches Campaign To Raise Awareness About Alzheimer’s Disease And Reduce Stigma
California’s Department of Public Health has launched a state-wide campaign called “Take on Alzheimer’s” to increase education and awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, which is the third leading cause of death in the state and is disproportionately affecting communities of color.

By 2030, one in three Californians will be over 50, and the population over 60 in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties is projected to increase by nearly 200% from 2010 to 2060. With the aging population, the demand for caregivers is growing, raising concerns about the home care industry’s ability to meet this demand and manage associated costs; this series will explore caregiving topics, including system navigation, care costs, and in-home care resources.
