Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Friday that he will immediately begin shifting billions of dollars away from nonlethal programs in connection with a broader reorganization of military priorities.
Robert John Lanoue, 72, who pleaded guilty this week, will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for the 1982 rape and murder of a five-year-old. The girl’s body was accidentally discovered by military police at Fort Ord (closed in 1994) who were investigating something else. There were no suspects for decades.
