Robert John Lanoue, 72, who pleaded guilty this week, will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for the 1982 rape and murder of a five-year-old. The girl’s body was accidentally discovered by military police at Fort Ord (closed in 1994) who were investigating something else. There were no suspects for decades.
