Marilyn Mosby insisted to MSNBC's Joy Reid that she has done 'absolutely nothing wrong, nothing illegal, nothing criminal', and argued that Biden dismissing her conviction would be 'appropriate.' Mosby said her conviction was a 'political attack' against her, with Reid citing her decision to charge police officers involved in the controversial 2015 death of Freddie Gray as the reason she 'found herself on the other side of the courtroom.' She is set to be sentenced on May 23, after a jury found her guilty of illegally withdrawing funds from her city retirement and lying on a mortgage application for a Florida home she bought with the money. Mosby lied on her mortgage application for a $428,000 home in Long Boat Key, Florida, including the false claim she received a $5,000 gift from her husband.

Kristi Noem is still doubling down on defending her decision to shoot dead her 14-month-old puppy Cricket and is upping the rhetoric about how 'extremely dangerous' the dog was. Speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday night, the South Dakota Governor claimed that it was most safe to kill the dog because there were 'small kiddos' on the farm that were at risk. Noem, 52, confessed in her upcoming book to killing her family farm dog while her kids were at school. The excerpt was immediately picked up and was viewed and shared widespread online - essentially tanking the Republican's chances of being selected as Donald Trump's vice presidential candidate.

In a video obtained by KLAS, the muscle-bound former wrestler is seen dancing and partying in the iconic 'Ken' outfit featuring a fur coat, a short blonde wig and a hairband, from the Barbie movie. Rodimer allegedly turned into 'angry Ken,' ripping off his white fur coat and charging shirtless at Tapp after discovering the man was offering cocaine to his stepdaughter Bella Duffy, 21. Witness Dani Lyons, a close friend of Duffy, claimed to have heard Rodimer say, 'If you ever talk to my daughter again, I'll ***** kill you,' according to documents. 'Immediately after hearing Dan say this to Christopher, [the witness] heard two loud banging noises,' investigators wrote.

Wealthy Ventura, California, residents are furious over plans to formally introduce hiking trails at Mariano Rancho Preserve despite previously campaigning for them. A residents' group in the affluent city of Ventura has expressed concerns over plans to set up formal trails in the stunning Mariano Rancho Preserve. Neighbors for the Ventura Hillside say allowing the public access under the plans would be, 'surprisingly and unnecessarily intrusive to residents', SF Gate reports. Concerns include estimates of up to 1,600 visitors descending every day. However, this has now been revised to 274 hikers per day per an estimate by Ventura Land Trust.

A few dozen members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity took it upon themselves to shield the flag on Tuesday at UNC Chapel Hill where protesters at one point replaced it with the Palestinian flag. Dan Stompel, a political science student at the school, told Fox News he and other fraternity brothers held the flag up for over an hour until police arrived to clear the hundreds of protesters. The junior said: 'I was like, "I'd die for this flag." And everybody was like, "Yeah." If they got any closer that we're going to start throwing hands. We're not going anywhere, I don't care. 

An Iranian professor made a prediction about American college students after Pro-Palestine rioting. Numerous campuses across the US have seen massive protests in support of Gaza. Tehran University Professor Foad Izadi declared the students 'are our people' in an interview with Iranian state TV station IRIB Ofogh on April 26. Izadi got both his bachelors and masters degrees at the University of Houston and his doctorate from Louisiana State University before returning to Iran.

Former president Donald Trump shared what he will do in the event he loses in November as he addressed issues around election authenticity that reared their heads around the January 6 riots (right). His comments came after a rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin, a battleground state. Wisconsin will serve as home for the 2024 Republican National Convention, where Trump is expected to be formally nominated as the party's candidate to take on President Joe Biden in November.

Brittney Griner has revealed she considered taking her own life multiple times when detained in a Russian prison following her 2022 arrest. The WNBA superstar had been sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison after being caught with a cannabis oil cartridge while returning to Russia to resume playing for her European team, UMMC Ekaterinburg, in February 2022.  She was freed in a 1-for-1 swap with Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout in December 2022 that has since been criticized for its failure to return Paul Whelan, a US Marine imprisoned on espionage charges in 2018. However, before she could be released, Griner considered taking her own life with the conditions in the Russian detention center leaving her feeling 'less than human', she revealed to ABC's to Robin Roberts.

Jamie Dimon was blasted as 'out of touch' for the comments, made during an interview on the Wall Street Journal's podcast, The Journal. Dimon, who is estimated to be worth around $2.1 billion according to Forbes, stated that consumers 'still have excess money from COVID'. 'The consumer's in pretty good shape right now,' Dimon told interviewer Emma Tucker. But his remarks were slammed online, including by one furious TikToker left in disbelief, after the head of the US' largest bank claimed Americans are 'still spending down' funds handed out during the pandemic. 

A Thunderbirds-style military vehicle designed for unmanned, long-distance underwater missions has completed in-water testing. The Manta Ray prototype uncrewed underwater vehicle (UUV) completed the full-scale testing off the coast of Southern California over the last three months, according to manufacturer Northrop Grumman. Manta Ray was built through the U.S. Department of Defense's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) program. Although its future missions have not been revealed, Northrop Grumman describe the vehicle as a 'new class of UUV'. It moves through the water using 'efficient, buoyancy-driven gliding' and could reduce need for as much human involvement in underwater missions.

The family of a 22-year-old woman killed in a high-speed crash was awarded $8 million after first responders were found to be negligent in taking nearly 90 minutes to find her. The wreck that claimed Annie Becerra's life took place on November 30, 2018, when she was in the passenger seat of her boyfriend Freddy Mieryteran's Nissan Versa when it sped through a red light and hit another vehicle. One hour and 23 minutes after the crash, a Florida State Trooper was doing inventory on the crash when they discovered Becerra 'wedged between the passenger side front floor board and the dash board.'

Christopher Gregor, 31, appeared in court on Tuesday to face murder charges after his son, Corey Micciolo, died in 2021 of 'blunt force trauma' after years of alleged abuse . If convicted - Gregor faces life in prison. Surveillance footage from the Atlantic Heights Clubhouse fitness center was shown in court during the trial. In the CCTV video, Corey is seen continuously falling off the treadmill, while Gregor keeps lifting him up and putting him back on it. Gregor is seen at one point appearing to bite his son on the back of the head before forcing him to run again, the news outlet reported.

Ousted ABC News weatherman Rob Marciano frequently butted heads with his predecessor Ginger Zee who 'brought out the worst in him.' On Tuesday, it was announced that Marciano, 55, was fired two years after he was yanked off air for 'anger issues.' Marciano had joined 'GMA' in 2014 to take over Zee's weekend role after she was promoted to the daily set to replace chief meteorologist Sam Champion.  Marciano and Zee's relationship was rocky for years, an anonymous media executive told the New York Post. The source added Zee is a 'know-it-all' that acted as an 'alpha' and often treated Marciano as a 'beta.'

Colin Czech, 29, is charged with murder after police found him covered in blood and kneeling above the man's mutilated head, just off the Las Vegas strip. The homeless man admitted to police that he 'used his teeth to eat [the victim's] eyeball and ear', his arrest report detailing the horrifying crime alleged. Czech faced Las Vegas Justice Court on Wednesday where he made bizarre facial expressions and his lawyer argued he was too insane to stand trial.

Clearview Village was once home to thousands of WW2 munitions workers. Today it is at risk of being obliterated completely by a nearby $4billion Panasonic plant. Residents say despite assurances from the village's current owner, they fear their homes could be flattened to make way for parking lots or future development in support of the plant. 'It's a gold mine,' resident Ron Buerman, 28, told the Kansas City Star . 'Basically, what I think they're going to do is either this will be a damn parking lot for Panasonic, or apartments.'

Airbnb launched its new 'Icons' collection on Wednesday where lucky guests will get the chance to live out their imaginations in movie-inspired homes, including one from Disney's UP. The UP house is located in Abiquiu, New Mexico and is hosted by none other than Carl Fredrickson. The experience to stay in the balloon-topped home is free, but guests will be 'randomly chosen.' According to the listing, Airbnb purchased Carl and Ellie's home to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of the movie

The Netflix drama about a struggling comedian targeted by an obsessed and deranged female stalker has notched up almost 14 million viewers in the UK alone and is the number one show globally. Part of the fascination, it seems, is the fact it's billed as 'a captivating true story'. 

NEW A school orchestra surprised a 5-year-old girl battling blood cancer with a private heartfelt performance - after hearing a story she wrote about her journey.  Quincy Fitzgerald has been battling Leukemia for over two years.  After dozens of chemotherapy sessions and doctor visit, Quincy and her 7-year-old sister wrote a short story about their experience. 

The Herculaneum Scrolls (top and bottom right) contain hugely significant philosophical and literary texts from ancient Greek and Roman scholars, but were turned to carbonized lumps by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Attempts to unroll the scrolls have damaged or destroyed them, turning the precious coal-like relics to dust. Now, scientists are using clever scanning techniques to identify the Greek text written within - without having to unroll the fragile 'papyrus' pages (left). The team has already read one of the scrolls to discover how Greek philosopher Plato spent his last evening 2,500 years ago - but say other huge revelations about Socrates (inset top left) could be in store. Like the city of Pompeii, the Italian town of Herculaneum (inset bottom) was destroyed by the Mount Vesuvius eruption of AD 79.

A large eastern grey kangaroo was filmed fighting off a pack of attacking dogs. The kangaroo was forced to flee to a creek to defend itself from the four dogs. The disturbing video has reginited an old myth about the native animal.

Employees created a Backstreet Boys parody video to promote proper water usage in the summer. They called themselves the 'Splashstreet Boys and sang a song titled 'I Water That Way.' The catchy choreographed video showed five members of the company's communications team, including Steve Snyder, Micky Boehm, Jimmy Luthye, Nathan Hayes and Jill Harclerode who sported drawn-on facial hair. The 90s band even saw the video and told the group that they 'NAILED' it.
