Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Botchwey will deploy a Commonwealth Observer Group (COG) to observe the forthcoming general and regional elections in Guyana, scheduled for 1 September 2025.

The Guyana Police Force, in collaboration with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, on Monday launched a Crisis Management Training Programme at the Officers’ Training Centre, Camp Road, Georgetown, with 58 ranks participating, all drawn from the Tactical Services Unit.
