Saint Lucia’s Police Welfare Association (PWA) has extended its ‘deepest condolences’ on this week’s tragic death of Constable 170 Shem Severin in a vehicle crash.
Severin died on Wednesday morning after the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree along the Bexon Highway.
“Today, we mourn the tragic passing of a giant of an individual,” the PWA said in a statement hours after the death of the 31-year-old.
According to the statement, Severin was an inspiration who exemplified dedication, professionalism, integrity, and courage.
In addition, the PWA lauded his passion for policing and community engagement.
The association also stated that those qualities would be enshrined in ‘our history’ and serve as a reminder of ‘our commitment to protecting our citizens.’
The PWA statement also contained a message to all police officers.
“We know the profound loss his death has brought to the fore. We wish to remind our members of the debriefing services offered by the Employee Assistance Program,” it said.
Mehsay, why people have the habit to say all the things that will help a person feel pertinent only when they are dead. What benefit does it make to that individual? Someone please try to explain something that will make sense. RIP bro. true friend will be miss.
Anonymous, is it only now that you have realized we live in a DEAD HERO SOCIETY? It was sang in calypso before and that still rings in the ears….so that shouldn’t be a shock to you.
