A technology firm, Gotocourse Platform and G-Mind AI, has called on the Federal Government andstakeholders in the education sector to embrace the evolving role of technology in teaching and learning.

The Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Dr Success Ojo, who spoke with journalists in Ibadan, said education has gone beyond the four walls of the classrooms, where teachers and students interact one-on-one. She noted that learning has witnessed transformation over the years and technology plays a prominent role.

“Effective education is no longer confined to classroom walls or traditional pedagogical approaches. From chalkboard to smartboard;textbooks to e-books, learning has witnessed drastic transformations over the years. Technology is at the forefront of these changes, driving the evolution of teaching and learning at a pace never beforewitnessed.” Ojo said.

She expressed confidence that Gotocourse and artificial intelligence systems like G-Mind, a technology developed by Nigerians, can play a vitalrole in the learning experience.

For instance, she noted that the government can tap into the G-Mind technology, which is not just a tool, but a virtual assistant that helps teachers with curriculum and content generation.

Instead of spending hours creating curriculum or writing lesson plans, Ojo said teachers can leverage the G-Mind app to generate comprehensive, expertly designed curricula within minutes.

Besides, she explained that the software can also facilitate text-to-speech and speech-to-text capabilities. She appealed to government at all levels to embrace technology to revolutionise the sector.

She said: “Technology in education is more than an enabler; it promises a future where quality education is accessible to all, irrespective of geographical limitations, socio-economic backgrounds, and learning capacities.”
