Seattle YMCA Celebrates Healthy Kids Day With Free Public Event

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is set to host its annual Healthy Kids Day This Sat., April 20, starting at 10 a.m. This free event, aimed at giving children and families a healthy start to summer, will be held across 12 locations throughout Greater Seattle.

Loria Yeadon, CEO of YMCA Greater Seattle, emphasized the importance of keeping children physically and mentally active. “Healthy Kids Day is our flagship event to inspire families to keep moving and learning all summer long,” Yeadon said. “We’re excited to offer a day of fun activities that not only create lasting memories but also promote health and wellness.”

The event, sponsored by local businesses and organizations, features a variety of activities tailored to foster healthy lifestyles. These include nutritious snack ideas, water safety tips, sports challenges, bounce houses, and arts and crafts, all designed to engage children and their parents in wellness and creativity.

The YMCA encourages families to take advantage of this community event to connect with neighbors and learn more about the YMCA’s resources for maintaining healthy habits throughout the year. “If you’re not yet a member, this event is a perfect opportunity to see what the YMCA offers,” Yeadon added.

In addition to family-friendly activities, the event will also feature appearances by public officials and local celebrities, enhancing the community spirit of the occasion.
