Unity Cup 7-aside Football
Supenaam All-Stars and Royal Challengers captured male and female division titles in the Region #2 ‘One Guyana’ Unity Cup 7-aside Football Championship at the Charity Community Ground.
In the men’s championship match, Supenaam All-Stars bested 7Stars by a 2-0 score-line. Brandon Solomon recorded the opening goal in the 12th minute, with Andron Fernandes sealing the result 13 minutes onwards.
Due to the outcome, Supenaam walked away with $300,000 and the championship trophy, while 7Stars pocketed $100,000 and the runner-up accolade.
On the other hand, Royal Challenges dismantled Pomeroon Ballerz in the female decider 5-0. Veronica Chatta recorded all five conversions to secure the $50,000 first-place prize and the trophy. Chatta opened her account in the second minute before doubling the lead in the fourth.
She then completed her hat-trick with an eighth-minute conversion, with the fourth goal occurring in the 12th minute to seal her helmet-trick. The score-line was then completed in the 14th minute. Pomeroon, for their efforts, pocketed $25,000 and a trophy.
