ExxonMobil Guyana neither supports nor finances any political party or candidate, according to its General Counsel, Andrew Lodge.
In the December 8th edition of Kaieteur News (KN), Lodge was responding to a letter by Craig Sylvester in the December 6th edition of KN.
Lodge said: “While we usually ignore flights of fancy, attacks alleging illegality on our part cannot go uncorrected. In his letter Mr. Sylvester unwisely and disingenuously makes unsubstantiated allegations of bribery, and evidence-free `assumptions’ about payments he says we `may’ have made. None of them is true.
“Let me state clearly: ExxonMobil Guyana neither supports nor finances any political party or candidate. We categorically reject allegations of any involvement in bribery or corrupt practices. We adhere to the highest ethical standards and are committed to transparency and integrity in all our dealings”.
