Christian Louboutin Is the First Major Designer to Get 'Nude' Right

"Flesh-toned" isn't just about peaches and cream, people.

We don't often hear about the world of high fashion getting something very right when it comes to race and inclusiveness, but Christian Louboutin deserves a round of applause for its new collection of "nude" ballet flats. Why? Because the luxury brand finally acknowledged that "nude" doesn't just mean peaches and cream.
The chic flats actually come in seven colorways, from the lightest blush to the darkest mahogany, and — just like the women who will wear them — they are all beautiful.

Amazingly, Louboutin is the first major luxury brand to redefine "nude," — or, rather, define it correctly — but hopefully the others will quickly follow suit. It's been far too long that women of color have been left out of this particular trend.
