Marlon Humphery, whose identity wasn’t initially released by team officials, immediately began to self-quarantine as the Ravens are now under the NFL’s intensive protocol.
“In coordination with the league, we have started the process of contact tracing, and are following the guidelines of intensive protocol,” the team statement read. “The health and safety of our players, staff and community continue to be our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with the NFL and our team doctors and will follow their guidance.”
The cornerback confirmed that he tested positive in a tweet he posted the morning of Nov. 2. “I got the ‘Rona (another term for coronavirus), hopefully I’ll be back healthy soon,” he said.
Also, three-time Pro Bowler Dez Bryant joined the Ravens’ practice squad, the team announced on Oct. 27.
Bryant, 32, spent his first eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, where he starred as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. In April 2018, Dallas released him. Now that he may get the opportunity to suit up in a uniform again, he was beyond delighted.
“My emotions running high right now. I’m thankful. I can’t stop crying,” he tweeted after signing to the practice squad.
