The South African Weather Service has issued fire danger warnings for parts of Limpopo, the North West, central and western parts of the Free State, central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape, as well as the north-eastern interior of the Eastern Cape.

A heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected to continue over Gauteng, in places on the Highveld of Mpumalanga, the south-western Bushveld of Limpopo, the central and eastern parts of the North West and northern parts of the Free State until Friday.

Hot and humid weather is expected over the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal and on the Lowveld of Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

Gauteng will be fine and hot, becoming partly cloudy in the south from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

It will be fine and hot in Mpumalanga, but extremely hot on the Lowveld.

Fine and hot to scorching conditions will prevail in Limpopo.

The North West will be fine and hot, becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon. It will be windy in the west.

Thursday will be fine, windy, and hot in the Free State, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thunderstorms in the central and eastern parts from the afternoon.

Morning fog patches will occur over the south-western interior of the Northern Cape.

It will be fine and cool to warm but hot in the north and north-east.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

It will be cloudy to partly cloudy in the south and west of the Western Cape, with light rain in the south-west, spreading to the south coast by late afternoon.

Conditions will be fine and warm in the Central Karoo.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable north of Cape Columbine in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly.

The wind will be strong between Table Bay and Cape Agulhas in the afternoon, becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly by the evening.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy with fog patches in places in the morning, otherwise fine and warm but cool along the coast and adjacent interior.

Isolated showers and rain can be expected along the south coast and adjacent interior in the evening.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

The eastern half of the province will be cloudy, with mist south of the escarpment in the morning.

It will be fine and cool along the coast and adjacent interior.

It will become cloudy with isolated showers and rain in the east from late afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine and warm to hot but extremely hot in places in the north. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.
