Mrs. Reba Diggs announces the recent death of her loving husband, Raymond O. Diggs, on Saturday, December 19, 2020, the devoted father of Keith Diggs (Felecia) and Sharon Jenks (Anthony); cherished grandfather of Jessica Thomas, Quinton Lewis-Diggs, Kiara Lewis and Kelly Smith (William); and loving great-grandfather of Knowoye, Juliette, Emery and Kelina. A retired architectural engineer from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Ray spent his spare time helping friends and family and mentoring youth, producing many Eagle Scouts as the Scoutmaster of Troop 515, National Capital Area Council. Ray was also responsible for the design of three churches including the renovation of Metropolitan Baptist Church (R Street) in the District and Morning Star Baptist Church of Spring Grove, Virginia. He celebrated his 90th birthday with family on November 7, 2020.
