Will Packer encourages couples to watch new series ‘Put A Ring On It’ together
'Put A Ring On It' debuts Friday, October 23 at 10 p.m.
Set to premiere Friday, “Put A Ring On It” brings a romantic social experiment to the OWN lineup.
Introduced as part of the network’s expansion into unscripted television, “Put A Ring On It,” comes from Hollywood creative Will Packer. theGrio reported the show is directed towards audiences who enjoy the channel already.

“Put A Ring On It” brings together four long-time couples and has them date other people. The experiment aims to prove whether or not each couple should get married or move on by seeing other people. Dr. Nicole LaBeach, a professional relationship coach, guides each pair through their televised journey.
“I hold the space for what they’re trying to achieve and accomplish, and then I let them do the work. It’s not my job to decide [if] I think this will be an easy date, or I don’t think this will work out. It’s really to partner with them and say this is what I think is going to be best. And let’s see what happens from there,” Dr. LaBeach remarked in a virtual press conference.
WIll Packer is excited for the show to premiere. He described the series as “fresh and sexy content,” in a statement. Both Packer and Dr. LaBeach hope couples at home watch the series together, despite the on-screen relationships being forced into some uncomfortable situations.
“I want couples to watch the show together I think that this would be a very interesting show for couples to watch especially couples that are married. I think that they will, you know see themselves in in our couples that we have on the show,” the producer said during the digital press event.

According to Packer, some couples who may have had altered experiences with one another due to quarantine or distance enforced by the coronavirus pandemic may have important discussions after viewing.
“One of the challenges with the pandemic is it’s reduced our ability to escape. In reducing your ability to escape, and go out and do what you want to do that normally would keep you from dealing with the issues at hand, it gives the opportunity for this show to show the audience that there are some things that you can do,” Dr. LaBeach added.
“Put A Ring On It” debuts Friday, October 23 at 10 p.m. following the new season of Ready to Love.
