Black Friday deals online before Thanksgiving

by Lindsay Keener

Black Friday, the holiday shoppers’ favorite day of the year, is fast approaching and it’ll be here sooner than expected.

Some of the world’s largest retail-chains are changing things up this year. Hoping to keep consumers safe from the coronavirus, many companies will be offering holiday sales online before Thanksgiving.

Walmart and Target announced Monday plans to roll out deals online for Black Friday 2020.

“We’ve been very thoughtful as we planned this year’s event,” a Walmart spokesperson said. “By spreading deals out across multiple days and making our hottest deals available online. We expect the Black Friday experience in our stores will be safer and more manageable for both our customers and our associates.”

Walmart plans to have three online events in connection with the national holiday. The first round of holiday deals will roll out on Nov. 4 with an additional set of sales released on Nov. 7. The second event will begin Nov. 11 followed by more deals made available to consumers on Nov. 14. The third event begins on Nov. 25 and the last set of deals will be online Nov. 27.

Consumers can expect to find deals on high-powered technology products as well as many Walmart-exclusive items.

Walmart is offering contact-free curbside pick up service for customers who wish to get their items outside of the shopping area.
