A woman and her 7-year-old daughter were left seriously injured on Thursday morning when they were struck by a car in a parking lot on Kingfisher Road in Eastwood, Pietermaritzburg.
At 11:37, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the mother and child still in the parking lot. Members of the public had already begun performing first aid on the mother and child.

Medics assessed the mother and child and found they had both sustained numerous injuries and were in a serious condition.
They were treated and provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to Greys Provincial Hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
