Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer was left unimpressed with his side’s performance following their 1-1 draw against Baroka FC on Tuesday evening.

Orlando Pirates have now gone three games without registering a victory since the return of PSL action in the country and pressure now seems to be mounting at the Buccaneers on Zinnbauer’s shoulders.

Zinnbauer frustrated with misfiring Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates scored their first PSL goal since the resumption of league football last night however, Josef Zinnbauer was still unimpressed with the lack of composure shown by his side in front of goal.

“I’m not happy about the result,” the German coach told SuperSport TV.

“We had control of the game. In the final third, we didn’t make the right decision. We were not calm. We were too stressed. We needed to be correct with the final pass and final shot. We conceded an offside goal, yes, it’s football.

“For me (Zinnbauer) it’s a little bit weird, there was foul, six minutes extra time is not possible. But you know we had it in our own hands. We didn’t make enough chances because we were not good in the final third and that is the reason we have one point.”

Lorch wasn’t fit enough to start

Orlando Pirates were handed a timely boost by the return of talisman Thembinkosi Lorch who was given permission to return to the squad after completing his disciplinary proceedings at the club for breaking club protocols. Lorch however was named on the bench and Zinnbauer has since explained the decision.

“He is important for us but his level has a question mark and we decided that (he would be) sitting on the bench and we brought him in. The quality is good. Lorch is a top player not only in our team, I think in the whole league. We have him and we will use his quality in the next games,” Zinnbauer said as quoted by SoccerLaduma.

Zinnbauer and his men now turn their attention to Cape Town City FC who they face on Sunday afternoon at Loftus Versfeld with the hope of earning their first victory post lockdown.
