The Kriel police station in Mpumalanga has been closed temporarily after an employee tested positive for Covid-19.
"All communities serviced by the Kriel SAPS are advised that the station will temporarily be closed due to an employee in the building who tested positive for the Covid-19 virus," provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said in a statement on Monday.
This comes as the province recorded 11 008 cases, 4 995 recoveries and 52 deaths as of Sunday, 26 July.
As a result, the Community Service Centre will now be operated from the Apostolic Gospel International Church next to the substation in Llewellyn Street.

Hlathi added that, in the interim, the members of the public could call 072 908 5000 for emergencies and complaints.
The building will be decontaminated and services are expected to resume normally on Wednesday.
"SAPS management further apologises for any inconvenience that may arise from this," Hlathi said.
