President of the Guyana Boxing Association, (GBA) Steve Ninvalle held fruitful dialogue with Sports Minister, Charles Ramson Jr., yesterday at the invitation of the latter to discuss the way forward relating to the fistic sport locally.

Ninvalle expressed optimism following the meeting which was held at the National Resource Centre.

“I thought that the meeting was very insightful. The Minister clearly outlined his scope and his intentions as it relates to bringing about some semblance of order in sports in particular boxing which is my fraternity.”

Ninvalle added:” I think with him at the helm, not only boxing but all the sports fraternities will see some measure of development and progress.”

Not wanting to go much into specifics, Ninvalle noted that the minister and the association are on the same page with regards to the development of the discipline which has brought Guyana its lone Olympic medal.

Ninvalle then thanked Ramson Jr., for taking time out to meet with the association during these early stages of his tenure.

The GBA head also noted that it was mandated that regular meetings will be convened “to ensure what we are planning is actually working.”
