Plaisance electrician shot twice in row

A 31-year-old electrician is currently warded at a city hospital after he was allegedly shot and injured by a neighbour during a heated argument yesterday morning at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Keith Johnson was shot twice in his abdomen. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he underwent emergency surgery. His condition is listed as stable.

The incident occurred around 8 am at Prince William Street, Plaisance, ECD.

The 26-year-old suspect fled the scene and is yet to be apprehended.

Sunday Stabroek understands that Johnson and the suspect were friends but the friendship ended during October, 2020 after they were both shot and injured by unknown individuals on a motorcycle.

Reports are that Johnson exited his yard yesterday morning to go to work when he was approached by the suspect who accused him of gossiping about him with a female.

This resulted in a heated argument which caused Johnson’s brother and others to intervene.

However, during the process, the suspect allegedly shot Johnson and escaped.

The police were up to yesterday afternoon on the hunt for the suspect.
