Jimir Reece Davis, a DJ who goes by the moniker “Amorphous," has taken social media by storm with his danceable mashups of classic and modern bops that he combines to create unforgettable grooves.

His mashup of Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” with crooning legend Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much" has garnered an astounding 1.6 million views on Twitter.  

Thanks to his infectious remixes, the 22-year-old beat master’s social media game leveled up this past week. Davis’ love of music and filmmaking started when he was a toddler, Complex reported. Within the past six to seven years, the Philadelphia native said he has begun to take his craft more seriously. The mixmaster gave props to his father and brother for encouraging his love of music from various genres and eras.

Celebrities like Missy Elliott, Tina Lawson and Oprah Winfrey have celebrated Davis’ talents and offered him encouragement, support and even gifts. 

The DJ shared a 2018 text message between him and Elliott on his Twitter account. The star-producer told the young man that his work and tribute to her hadn’t gone unnoticed. She also gave him pointers on patience and staying on task with his artistry. 

A shocked Davis gushed on his Facebook after he learned that Lawson had posted one of his mashups in November to accompany daughter, Beyoncé’s wildly-successful Ivy Park clothing line. 

“MS. TINA (Beyoncé’s incredible mother) JUST POSTED MY BEYONCÉ MASHUP. HOLY,” he wrote.

The video from her account has so far amassed more than 100,000 likes. 

Davis, who isn’t afraid to go after what he wants, tweeted to Apple about a new MacBook. According to his Dec. 8 tweet, his current processor is on its way to computer heaven. 

“Pls @apple can y’all run me a new computer. This MacBook is on its last legs,” he wrote.

Winfrey caught wind of his wish and responded by sending him a new MacBook so that he could keep the masses dancing.

“Consider it done. New @apple MacBook on the way. My pleasure to help you bring us into 2021 dancing,” Winfrey responded. 

Davis has taken the attention in stride. He wrote a grateful tweet the same day.

“This has been the craziest two weeks ever. Going to take a walk soon and just relax, take it all in. I am so blessed! All of the hard work I’ve put in creatively (for fun) since I was a kid… it’s… it’s all lead to this,” the tweet read.

According to his website, the viral beat maker has been incredibly busy. Although he is receiving an overwhelming amount of attention, the mashup extraordinaire has been called an “upcoming talent” by Issa Rae. He has produced two feature-length documentaries on the lives and careers of late R&B singer Aaliyah and “Umbrella” singer Rihanna. His work has also been featured on MTV, BET, Fader and other media outlets.

On Thursday, Davis posted a photo of himself with a caption that read, "first time in the studio." 

It's probably safe to say we'll be seeing a lot more of Davis in the near future.
