The United States reported 39,844 new coronavirus cases Sunday, according to a Johns Hopkins University tracker.
The tracker also logged 250 coronavirus-related deaths in the country.
As of Monday, the U.S. has roughly 6.8 million coronavirus cases and nearly 200,000 deaths — both tops globally — since the country’s first case was reported on Jan. 21, according to the tracker.
More than 31 million cases currently have been documented worldwide, with more than 962,000 related deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.
