USAIN BOLT has shared photos of his baby daughter with the world for the first time.
The world’s fastest man and his girlfriend, Kasi J Bennett, welcomed their child in mid June but had kept her identity private until now.
Yesterday Bolt revealed the couple had named their baby, Olympia Lightening Bolt, her first and middle name a nod to the sprinter’s career, signature celebration and record-breaking speed.
In a post on Instagram, Bolt, 33, said: “Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the rock for this family.”
In January Bolt and Bennett used a photoshoot to reveal they were expecting their first child together.
The latest announcement was also accompanied with images from a shoot of Bennett and baby Olympia.
Olympia shares her name with the daughter of another Olympic champion. Tennis player Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, officially named their daughter Alexis Olympia but refer to her simply as Olympia.
Fans hopes that Olympia will follow in the footsteps of her mother and take up tennis have been fuelled by Williams’ pictures of her daughter on the court.
Referring to both Olympia’s possible futures in sport at an elite level, Ohanian tweeted: “We’ll see you at the 2040 Olympics!”
He added: “But seriously though congratulations! All the blessings to you and your family.”
