Desperation! PNC fears. Beyond the oil

– My usual three Emancipation “mischiefs”

Wonder what did yesterday come up with? Since this was written very early I ask: did the tedium of courts interpreting/deciding our people’s preference – their will – produce another round of litigation to prolong the vulgarity of one political group’s determination to control government? National Resources? Power? Our Future?

I hope not even as I tire. So note the brevity of today’s offering.

These pages have recorded two themes –  among many – related to recent and current electoral manufactured conflicts – the will to hold on by any means necessary, as well as all that is there to maintain, retain – or regain. I tire. Except for the following small caveat: the real present and future fears of the PNC aka APNU).

Imagined or real: PPP longevity

Allow me to initiate and dwell in some dreams, born of political assumptions.

The world of donors and influencers inspire His Excellency to find an exit-strategy and to (relinquish his political/military ambitions of another decade (of development) of authority.

The PPP assumes office and listens to Allan Arthur Fenty and not Bharrat Jagdeo. The PPP instals reasonable, non-hawkish professionals at all levels of Government. Eschews retribution, discrimination, victimisation of the worst of their current PNC tribalists-opponents.

They invite and appoint a-political Civil Society experts to advise on various components of government with Comrade Bharrat and about ten (10)  of the Old Brigade Spoilers advising also but staying silent from the  background Corridors of Power.

Understandably rejecting opportunistic calls for “shared/unity governance“ at this time, the “new PPP” puts Constitutional and Electoral Reforms urgently in the hands of bi-partisan experts.

Then the decisive coup de grace!

Let the new PPP – implementing its own manifesto promises and policies – also embrace specific programmes contained in His Excellency’s decade of development strategy! That not-so-unprecedented tactic eliminates any early “joint-government” imposition as willing PNC patriots could be invited to assist in implementation.

Okay I’m dreaming? I think so too. But I exercised my right to dream and hope. And guess what? The PNC knows and fears that any real inclusionary governance by “a new PPP”, which since November 2018 attracted new First People votes along with those who were betrayed by the AFC Dead Meat Opportunists, will further entrench their perpetuity, continuity, longevity in “power.” Beyond the bounties of Oil and Gas prosperity for all.

So? Easy to appreciate His Excellency’s dedication to electoral determination. There might be no other chance! He can’t afford that! Right!

How early “electoral engineering”?

Those interested should make time to consider the following speculation my erstwhile Party Electoral Engineers and Strategists might have long indulged in, then prepared for.

Despite the well-funded seas of green campaign “Mass Rallies” Events, research intimated that the so-called “Amerindian vote” and the disillusioned “independents” could upset the traditional tribal 2020 tide.

So sit with our GECOM comrades fashioned by you-know-who; the Top 2. Stand by to infect the Region 4 numbers after computing the Regions One to Ten numbers by November 03.

Prepare to misinform about the Joint Services ballots. Even though that latter is difficult to make actual. Instruct that vital documents be left out from Region 4 East Coast Ballot Boxes. All this plus more was envisaged early on. How early before the recount request strategy? Ho-ho-ho.

Emancipation “mischief”?

Well no. No real mischief intended. And I promise not to return to these three “themes” for a long time.

It’s just that this week-end commemorates 182 years since African Slaves enjoyed their first full complete freedom – August 01, 1838. So politicians, ACDA, African Rights activists and His Excellency’s” Black-Lives-Matter” advocates will (justifiably) use the whole of August to pay tribute to the National-Development contributions of Afro-Guyanese. Expected! Understandable! Even with the political coatings.

So “mischievously,” I invite all to research and consider the following: (1) the loving liberated slaves named Victoria, Queenstown, Buxton after “White British” folks who once enslaved them. (2) Indentured Indian Males befriended freed “negresses” after 1838/39 to produce Guyana’s first ‘douglahs.” And (3) Before and after 1838’s Emancipation, Africans – free immigrant persons – came to the colony in search of work. They stayed. Assuming they had some free immigrant ladies to “consort” with, it means that many current Afro-Guyanese had no ancestors who were slaves! Research the above next month. And a pleasant Emancipation weekend. Virtually?

 Just Imagine…

●  1)  Chris Ram counts 13/14 Court Cases related to the March 02 Elections. Wish you were an attorney?

●  2)  My lasting image of Owen Arthur (who had Guyanese relatives): him taking off his observer credentials to give the lady acting as our Foreign Affairs Minister.

●  3)  Did Stabroek News – or the Police ever identify the 400 – ? Afro persons killed during Dr Jagdeo’s tenure?

●  4)  Last Saturday evening, by pure accident on the local NCN channel, I experienced comrades Jones and Duncan presenting some rich PNC TV theatre. Say what you want about their partisan propagandistic info about the PPP’s elections fraud the boys were great (“kyte-kyte-kyte- caddy!!” What price power?

●  5)  Anil Nandlall’s put-down of “Ole Sawakee“ Hammie Green: “This generation of Guyanese are of a different breed they will not allow a political relic like Hamilton Green to do to them what he did to their parents and grandparents.”

Til next week!
