127 new COVID-19 cases reported in Allegheny County Sunday

Allegheny County reported 127 new cases of COVID-19 in the county on Sunday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,557.

The county also reported four new hospitalizations, bringing the total of past and present hospitalizations to 412, and no new deaths were reported, leaving the total at 187 (175 confirmed and 12 probable).

The county reported 150 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday marking a week that saw record-setting single-day increases of COVID-19 in the county; Thursday’s high was 233 new infections, the all-time high.

The ages for the county’s newest cases range from 3 to 87 years old, with 30 being the median age, county officials said Saturday. Of the deaths recorded, 84 was the median age in a range of 23 to 103 years old.

Allegheny County Health Department Director Dr. Debra Bogen Friday recommended a voluntary stay-at-home protocol for all county residents to try and prevent further spread of the virus.

Pennsylvania reported 479 new cases and four new deaths Sunday, bringing the statewide case count to 89,854 with 6,753 deaths.
