Drivers hospitalised after Montrose collision

Two drivers are patients at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) following an early morning collision on the Montrose Public Road, East Coast Demerara.

The men who were involved in the accident have been identified as thirty-seven-year-old Kellon Albert of Lamaha Street, Georgetown who at the time of the incident was driving PWW 7239 and Rajah Chato (42) of Dhanraj Street, Kitty, Georgetown who was driving motorcar PRR 9123.

Police in a press release said that according to investigations, at around 6:15 am, PWW 7239 was proceeding west at a fast rate along the northern drive lane of the southern carriageway of Montrose Public Road when he lost control of his car, crossed over the median and collided with the front of PRR 9123.

Both drivers were seriously injured. They were transported to the GPH by public-spirited citizens. Their conditions are listed as stable.
