Prince George’s County said indoor pools, meeting rooms, tanning salons and vape shops can resume business — though under strict capacity limits — as the county expands the second phase of its coronavirus recovery plan.

“As we announce several additional openings under our county’s Phase 2 reopening, I want to remind our residents that this virus is still present in our community,” County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said in a news release Wednesday. “Please remember to continue following COVID-19 safety guidelines to keep yourself and your fellow Prince Georgians safe, including wearing a face mask, practicing physical distancing and washing your hands frequently.”

The added establishments are required to have customers wear face coverings, operate at a 50 percent maximum capacity and practice social distancing generally. Banquet halls, receptions and meetings in hotels and conference centers must be capped at 150 people. Buffets won’t be allowed and no more than six people can be seated at a table.

Cigar, hookah and vape shops can have no more than one person per 100 square feet, while tanning salons must operate with one customer per 200 square feet. Indoor pools, public or private, may reopen under the aforementioned capacity rules and face coverings must be worn when not in the water.

Youth sports such as soccer, lacrosse and baseball, may restart in small groups to no more than nine team members and one coach, with a maximum of 100 persons in a given area. In a development, parents aren’t allowed to enter child care facilities and face coverings are required for anyone older than 5.

Parades, festivals and family gatherings rules remain the same with one person or family per 200 square feet or a maximum of 50 persons, whichever number is fewer.
