Ninety new cases of COVID-19 recorded

The Ministry of Health yesterday revealed that 90 cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded during the past 24 hours.

According to the dashboard that was posted on the Ministry’s Facebook page there are now 1, 703 cases of the disease in the country which has so far claimed 48 Guyanese lives. The cases were detected from the 342 samples that were tested yesterday.

Of the total number of cases that have been confirmed thus far, 842 are males while 861 are females. There are still 16 persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 52 persons in institutional isolation.

The dashboard also revealed that there are 543 persons in home isolation and 68 persons in institutional quarantine. Approximately 1045 persons have recovered from the disease.
