The ZORA Cosign
Writing Helps This Medium Creator Get Out of Her Own Way
She’s organized several writer meetups, runs two pubs, and is a general platform badass. Get to know Tee, Conscious Creative.
The ZORA CoSign is both a CoSign and an introduction. We celebrate writers
#onhere who unapologetically tell the story, write the poem, paint the picture, and inspire the masses. They also expand and enhance our Medium community.
Meet Teressa “Tee” Price, publisher of Tee, Conscious Creative
“I write to be heard and as an outlet. I also write to share information and tell stories. It’s how I release pain, shame, and honestly stay sane. It’s my way of getting out of my head. But it’s also becoming a source of income, joy, and a much needed sense of accomplishment.”
Price has several Medium pubs, including Conscious Creatives and #ClubhouseAppRecap. She also created a space on the Clubhouse app for Medium writers and editors of color to join together to talk shop, dollars, and editorial sense.
We asked her a few key questions and here’s what she said.
What’s your why?
Conscious Creatives grew out of my love of the arts and community. I wanted to create a publication that highlighted the work of artists who used their work to fight for social justice. It is a launching pad for a community program I plan to open for aged-out foster care or adjudicated youth studying the arts. It would be similar to an artist in residency program, but with a longer term, supportive housing model.
ClubhouseAppRecap was born out of my love of learning and sharing information. My best friend invited me to join the platform because she said it was a great place to learn directly from industry leaders. I wrote about the experience in this Clubhouse App story.
Who else should we be following #onhere or what should we be reading?
