Robbery convict escapes from Lusignan Prison during kitchen work

The Prison Service has launched a manhunt for a robbery convict who escaped from the Lusignan Prison after being assigned kitchen duty.

In a statement issued by the police, the Guyana Prison Service said James Moore, 23, of Lot 544 New Road, Dairy, and Dennis Street, Turkeyen, was one of 14 prisoners who were booked out from a Holding Bay to work at the Lusignan Prison’s kitchen yesterday. He was discovered to be missing around 4.30 pm.

The statement noted that Moore is serving a three-year sentence for armed robbery.
