Her Campus Media and #ImStillGraduating Give Back to The Graduating Class of 2020

As graduation season continues, more and more organizations are finding ways to celebrate the graduating class of 2020. Her Campus Media, the number one media portfolio for female college students, was one of the latest to hold a virtual graduation, entitled, “I’m Still Graduating.” The celebration streamed across all of Her Campus Media platforms, took place on Friday, May 15th. During the ceremony, guests were treated to over 50 performances and commencement addresses from actors, musicians, politicians, fashion-icons, and business and nonprofit leaders. Participants included Tyson Beckford, Logan Browning, Tamron Hall, and Teyana Taylor. There were also speeches and performances by select students from the class of 2020.

To continue honoring this year’s graduating class, Her Campus Media has partnered with Aussie Hair Care, First Aid Beauty, and Sallie Mae to provide a series of activations. The activations are designed to provide graduates with additional support as they transition into their next chapters. From student loan support to business plan competitions to a future funded service, Her Campus Media is setting graduates up for success in light of the pandemic.

The first of the four activations is Her Campus and Aussie Hair Care Launch Generation Z Business Plan Competition. With applications being accepted until May 29th, aspiring entrepreneurs from the ages of 18-24 have the opportunity to be one of 20 accepted in the inaugural class of Roo Crew Fellows. Each will receive a cash prize of $1000, mentorship, and the chance to pitch their business to Her Campus and P&G Executives. Five finalists will then be selected to the next round, where they will receive direct mentorship from Her Campus Media Co-founder, $5000 cash prize, and an all-expense-paid trip to P&G Headquarters. As part of their new FAB Aid student debt relief program, First Aid Beauty is teaming up with Her Campus Media to donate $1 Million towards student loans. Graduates from the classes of 2018, 2019, and 2020 are invited to apply by filling out the online application, submitting a video, and an optional essay. Applications will be accepted until August 31st, with recipients announced November 10th. For information, visit HERE.

Her Campus Media and Sallie Mae will be awarding four graduates with $25,000 towards their next chapter as part of their Funded Futures Competition. Students are invited to submit their applications with no guidelines on how the fund must be spent until May 24th. Winners will include one high school graduate, one undergrad graduate, one grad school graduate, and one who will be entering into the medical field. For information, please visit HERE.

Launched during Friday’s virtual graduation, Her Campus Media and #ImStillGraduating have teamed up with Active Minds to launch their “Here For You” campaign. Coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Month, “Here For You,” is designed to recognize the pandemic toll and its effect on the mental health of this year’s graduating class.
