Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters told News24 on Thursday that the investigation into the double murder was still ongoing and that there have been no new developments.
The taxi drivers, aged 38 and 43, were gunned down last Friday and, according to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Miranda Austin, about 57 cartridges were found on the scene.
It is alleged that five men in a white VW Polo entered the car wash and immediately fired multiple shots at the taxi drivers before they fled. The drivers were declared dead on the scene.

Austin added: "This was the first incident of this kind in SAPS Villieria policing area. Taxi-related investigations are being done by a specific unit from the police 'Provincial Taxi Violence Unit' that is specialising in taxi-related crimes, and what the community can expect is an arrest and justice for this unacceptable crime that was committed."
However, she could not say whether the shooting was part of ongoing feuds in the taxi industry.
She said one driver was from East Lynn and the other was from KwaMhlanga.
