William Jackson Harper to star in season 2 of ‘Love Life’ at HBO Max

The second season is set in New York City and will still feature Anna Kendrick in some capacity

William Jackson Harper just snagged a big gig. The Emmy-nominated actor will take on the leading role in season 2 of HBO Max’s Love Life.

The series starred Anna Kendrick during its first go ‘round and now the man known for his comedy chops in The Good Place will take over. The second season is set in New York City and will still feature Kendrick in some capacity, but will focus on Harper’s character.

He’s described as someone who “comes out of a years-long relationship with the woman he thought was going to be his person. The rug pulled out from under him, he is plunged back into the search for the romantic fulfillment that he thought he had already found.”

Considering the kind of show Love Life is, this role is sure to garner some major attention for Harper, who recently wrapped work on Barry Jenkins’ limited series The Underground Railroad.

We have never seen a Black man take on a romantic role like this on HBO and we can’t wait to see what’s in store. We’re also excited to see who the leading ladies in his life will be. If the first season is any indication of what to expect, we’re sure we’ll be hooked to this one when it rolls out.

HBO is expected to make more casting announcements for the series soon. Until then, we’ll just have to hope there are some incredible Black actresses lined up to share screen time with this talented actor.
