A 15-month-old abandoned baby has been found at the Bellville Railway Station.
A security guard discovery the baby girl, at about 16:00 on Sunday and a case of child abandonment was opened for further investigation.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said police were searching for 21-year-old woman, Lisa Xala from Tokwana Street in Mfuleni, who was identified as a person of interest.

"The investigating officer is also following up on information that she might be in hiding near Langa," Swartbooi added.
