RIP Mshoza: Tributes pour in following Nomasonto Maswanganyi’s death

One of South Africa’s most respected Kwaito musicians has died on Thursday. Nomasonto Maswanganyi – known as Mshoza – had previously been hospitalised.

Nomasonto Maswanganyi – otherwise known as Mshoza – has died at the age of 37 on Thursday morning. The musician was a major player in the Kwaito industry, and leaves behind two young children.

Maswanganyi had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Gauteng prior to her untimely passing. Thandoxulo Jindela, who worked as Mshoza’s manager, confirmed the death to the media a short while ago.

Amogst other things, Mshoza was also notable for the smash hit Kortes in the early 2000s. BullDawgz First Lady, her debut album, became an iconic record in Mzansi. She was frequently in the news for her love life, as several on-again, off-again marriages kept the artist in the public eye.
