The National Art Installation project involving a number of visual artists at the making of artworks at six sites across the country is nearing its finale.
Led by Art Malawi, the project kicked off in Mulanje where a number of works were done and they include Likhubula Art and Craft shop.
Art Malawi founder Manota Mphande said Sunday that their final site is the Tcharo- Livingstonia trail where they will be installing artworks at the four campsites from Chitimba to Old Salawe in Rumphi District.
“We started the project in January and we should conclude everything in December,” Mphande said.
He said in the project, they have been working with stakeholders including Department of Tourism, Airport Development Limited and GIZ Malawi.
“We are very happy with the work done thus far and the sites that have been chosen for the installation,” he said.
The project has also seen the artists working at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe, which is site number five.
Some of the artists involved in media such as canvas, mural, wood, metal include Samuel Ndalema, Jimmy Malinga, Tapiwa Mlinga, Cris Taulo, Gilbert Mpakule and Andrew Missi.
