Preparations are nearing completion for the 2022 Independence Day Parade.
During a full dress rehearsals at Kensington Oval on Saturday, members of the armed and unarmed services were seen going through their final preparations ahead of the big event on Wednesday.
Barbados Defence Force Chief of Staff Commodore Errington Shurland said rehearsals overall have been going well, and Barbadians can expect an impressive show of pageantry on Independence Day.
“This is the first of the full rehearsals that we are going to do here at Kensington. We are going to run another one shortly and then we will do one more on Monday afternoon.
“We have a few things to fix in terms of the dressing and persons being steady on parade, but I am fairly confident that the pomp and pageantry that is normally associated with the Independence Day Parade will be there for the Government and people of Barbados and visitors to our shores on the 30th of November.” (SB)
