The Gauteng Department of Health, Rebosis Property Fund and Faithcare Medicals will on Tuesday open another mall-based Covid-19 testing station – this time at the Bloed Street Mall in Pretoria.
According to Kwara Kekana, Gauteng health department spokesperson, the department has established relationships with various companies that have contributed towards the effort of flattening the infection curve.
"Rebosis owns various shopping malls in Gauteng. The partnership provides intervention and management of Covid-19 by contributing to an increase in the testing being done," Kekana said.
"The testing at shopping malls gives shoppers and members of the community around the shopping centre access to testing facilities free of charge."
The first testing site was launched at the Forest Hill Shopping Mall in Centurion in May. Another site was later opened at the Sunnyside Shopping Mall in Pretoria.
Gauteng is currently South Africa's Covid-19 hotspot with 193 561 confirmed cases and 2 618 fatalities recorded by Monday.
