Five people have been arrested in connection with the 2014 murder of Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, Police Minister Bheki Cele announced on Monday.
Cele said the arrests were made between 08:00 and 10:00 in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
The minister was briefing the nation alongside national police commissioner General Khehla Sitole.
"The SAPS and NPA (National Prosecuting Authority) are confident that we have a watertight case against all five suspects. At this point, we cannot reveal any further information as investigations are still ongoing and more arrests cannot be ruled out," Cele said.

Sitole said it was believed that one of the people who were arrested pulled the trigger.
Meyiwa was shot dead in the Vosloorus home of his girlfriend, actress and musician Kelly Khumalo on October 26 2014 - exactly six years ago.
The five people who were arrested were expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court. The charges will be revealed during the court appearance, according to Sitole.
Three of those who were arrested were not "necessarily" in the house where Meyiwa was killed, the commissioner added.
He said different investigation tactics had to be used in the matter and a cold case analysis had to be conducted.
"Some of these suspects were arrested while they were outside custody, but some were charged because they were already in custody on other cases from the cold case strategic approach," he said.
He said ballistics evidence relating to the firearm that was used in for the murder was important and added that the weapon was only found now.
"We have been looking for the weapon for the whole duration of the investigation. But with the final tactics applied, we found the weapon and...the weapon is ballistically connected to the crime scene," Sitole added.
The officials said they wanted to avoid conducting the investigation in the public domain, pointing out that leaks were detrimental to the progress of the probe.
Cele said he would speak to Meyiwa's family at around 18:00.
The minister said the State was confident in the case this time around because the arrests were made in collaboration with the NPA.
