Centuries from Matthew Nandu and Roy Singh ensured Kaieteur Cricket Club a 105-run win over Canadian Eagles in the Brampton Etobicoke and District Cricket League Premier Division Saturday.

The two century makers helped Kaieteur CC post 337 for five from their allotted 50 overs after they won  the toss and batted. Eagles, in reply, reached 232 for six when  their  innings ended.

At the top of the order, Nandu stroked nine fours and one six on his way to 126 from 115 balls. Singh picked up from Nandu and raced to 107 not out from 87 balls, featuring 10 fours. Extras contributed 42 runs towards the total while Navindra Nauth and Mehendra Jaipersaud chipped in with 37 and 21 runs respectively. Among the 10 bowlers used by Eagles, Zohaib Anis found the most success, returning three for 41 from his 10 overs while Paras Jaggotta and Jaspreet Buttar had one wicket each.

In the chase, Eagles looked positive as Anis returned to score an unbeaten 69 from 74 balls, highlighted by three sixes and four fours. However, his only support came from Maikeet Singh who made 61 from 91 balls, laced with five boundaries and Gurpreet Gill who was left stranded on 39 from 60 balls.

Jonathan Singh and Ashtan Deosammy were the principal bowlers, returning two wickets each for 24 and 25 runs respectively while Daniel Argunen and Nandu bagged one wicket each.

Nandu subsequently followed up his century with another match winning performance to lead Kaiteur International B to an eight-wicket win over United Titans in the Scarborough Cricket League first-division tournament.

Titans won the toss and opted to bat first but were restricted to 109 all out in 24.3 of their 50-over allotment. In reply, Kaieteur raced to 114 in 23.1 overs while losing two wickets along the way.

The chase was inspired by Nandu whose unbeaten 57 came from 65 balls and featured six boundaries. The former Guyana under-17 batsman found support from Nauth who made a 55-ball 27.

Earlier, Titans lost wickets in bundles mainly due to Nigel Ramsaroop who returned four for 26 from eight overs and Arjuna Sukhu who claimed three for 11. Trevor Jerrick also picked up two for 40.

Mohamed Chaviwala (23) and Usman Zahid (13) were the only batsmen to reach double figures while sharing in a 59-run opening stand but extras contributed 46 towards the total.
