IN A LITTLE UNDER TWO WEEKS THIS PARKING LOT AT CARDINALS STADIUM WILL TRANSFORM INTO THE LARGEST REGIONAL VACCINES SITE HERE IN KENTUCKY ADMINISTERING NEARLY 5,000 VACCINES PER DAY AND NOT JUST TO THE PEOPLE HERE WITH THE JEFFERSON COUNTY, BUT ALSO SURROUNDING COUNTY TO PROVIDE THAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS IT WILL BE ACCEPTING APPOINTMENTS STARTING I BELIEVE TOMORROW ON WEDNESDAY U OF L HEALTH WILL START. SCHEDULING IT FOR THOSE 16 AND OLDER AT THE CARDINALS STADIUM VACCINE SITE. IT’S SET TO OPEN APRIL 12TH. THE SITE WILL FEATURE 24 LANES FOR CARS AS WELL AS 100 LOCAL AND NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS PER DAY. THEY’LL ADMINISTER BOTH THE PFIZER AND JOHNSON & JOHNSON VACCINES OVER THE COURSE OF THAT, YOU KNOW, SIX WEEKS OR SO, WE CAN DELIVER ALMOST 200,000 VACCINATIONS. HERE IN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE WITH CARDINALS STADIUM OPENING UP SINCE IT’S JUST REALLY JUST A FEW SHORT BLOCKS AWAY FROM BROADBENT ARENA. During a press conference Tuesday, health officials announced more about UofL Health opening Kentucky's largest regional vaccination site in the Cardinal Stadium parking lot. With the new site opening, LouVax's Broadbent Arena site will close.LouVax will give its last initial shots on Friday, April 9. The site will stay open through the end of April to accommodate appointments. Officials say anyone who received their first shot at the arena will need to get their second there. The site will provide booster shots through April. 30.As operations at the Broadbent Arena site take the backburner, the LouVax mobile program will hold more events. Officials say the program will travel to different parts of Louisville."Our mobile mission can be anything from 10 people to a thousand, but they're designed and tailored to specific groups including neighborhoods, demographics, various community organizations," said Dr. SarahBeth Hartlage.On Wednesday, UofL Health will open admission for appointments at Cardinal Stadium.
