Pursuant to Section 22, Subsection 1(a) of the Constitution of Saint Lucia, His Excellency Sir Neville Cenac, Governor-General of Saint Lucia has appointed Mr. Cyril Errol Melchades Charles to serve as Deputy to the Governor-General. His appointment is for the period August 4th until August 31st , 2021.

In that capacity, the Deputy to the Governor-General, has been authorised by His Excellency to perform on his behalf all and any of the functions of the Office of Governor General.

During his professional career which spanned over 30 years, Mr. Charles served in the public service in various capacities, the longest being as a tax professional within the Department of Inland Revenue for over 25 years. Mr. Charles has also been involved in the work and contribution of the Lions Club in Saint Lucia for over 20 years.
