HOLDERS OF PROVISIONAL LICENSES SHOULD OBTAIN THE DEFENSIVE DRIVING CERTIFICATE BEFORE LICENSE EXPIRATION.

The Division of Transport works in collaboration with the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) to deliver the Defensive Driving Course. Defensive Driving certification is necessary for holders of provisional driver’s licenses to obtain the regular license upon expiration.

The provisional license is valid for a period of 12 months. The defensive driving certificate can be obtained any time within that period. Therefore, holders of provisional licenses are advised that they should not wait until expiration to complete the course.

Defensive Driving registration should be done at the SALCC.
The Government of Saint Lucia’s digiGov platform
(digigov.govt.lc) issues reminders 90 days, 30 days and 2 weeks
prior to the expiration of one’s driver’s license.
