(Black PR Wire) On Nov. 21, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) joined other community partners to  support 100 Black Men of South Florida’s Thanksgiving Food Drive. The food drive fulfills the need to help and  bring the joy of Thanksgiving to economically disadvantaged individuals in South Florida. The members, who  refer to themselves as “The 100,” purchase, assemble and deliver meal kits to various community and social  programs. They work with Publix to provide the food and UPS to deliver boxes to convenient locations in  underserved communities for pick-up by those in need.

The mission of 100 Black Men of South Florida, Inc. is to improve the quality of life of our citizens and enhance  educational opportunities for African-Americans. “The 100,” serve as a strong force for overcoming cultural and  financial obstacles, and promoting the achievements of African American youth with an emphasis on young  African-American males.

“Advancing meaningful initiatives and making a positive contribution toward racial equality is part of FPL’s  commitment to working with the communities we serve to make Florida an even better place to live, work and  raise a family,” said Juliet Roulhac, FPL’s external affairs director.

The 2020 goal is to pack and deliver 2,020 traditional Thanksgiving meals to those who need them most in  South Florida as far as Florida City to Sunrise. FPL is honored to be the proud sponsor of the 100 Black Men  Thanksgiving Food Drive to help serve our community and help build character, create hope, aspirations, plans  and futures for tomorrow’s leaders.
