On Tuesday, the commission heard testimony from former SAA board member Yakhe Kwinana, which left Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo in "disbelief".
Kwinana was questioned about her involvement in what appeared to be an illegal strategy by SAA to have 30% of awarded contracts to suppliers set aside for BEE companies. Treasury had warned the board that this would be illegal and should not be followed through with, Fin24 reported.
