Maurice McDonald, branch manager, Sagicor Life Jamaica, Spanish Town, hands over a symbolic cheque to a jubilant Toriann Beckford, the 2020 Gleaner’s Children’s Own Spelling Bee champion, while her mother, Winsome Hines, looks on, during a visit to the branch last week. The Sagicor Life Spanish Town branch gave a scholastic grant of $100,000 to Beckford, who also hails from the St Catherine capital and attends McAuley Primary School, for her excellent performance in the championship.
