Tuesday's weather: Cool to cold conditions in store for most of SA

Cool to cold weather is expected in several parts of the country, while the west of the country will be warm, the South African Weather Service says.

Warnings:

- Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Richtersveld and Kamiesberg municipalities of the Northern Cape.

The weather in your province:

Gauteng will be cloudy and cool. The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

Mpumalanga will be cloudy and cool, but cold along the escarpment where drizzle and fog patches are expected.

Limpopo will have drizzle and fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool.

The North West will be cloudy in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the west.

Free State will be cloudy with morning fog patches in the east where it will be cool, otherwise partly cloudy with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the north.

Northern Cape will be cool in the south, otherwise fine and warm to hot. It will become partly cloudy in the northeast with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to strong southerly to south-easterly.

Western Cape will be fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly north of Cape Agulhas otherwise light to moderate north-easterly to easterly. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light northerly, becoming southerly midday, but moderate easterly east of Cape St Francis.

The eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be fine and cool, but partly cloudy in the east at first. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly, becoming moderate easterly from late morning, but moderate to fresh north-easterly in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will have morning fog patches over the western and north-western interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but cloudy in the north.

The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly, becoming easterly to north-easterly from the south in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index is low.
