Man accused of firing at police charged

Small was charged on Sunday after being interviewed by the police.

A man accused of firing at a police team on Jones Avenue, in Spanish Town, St Catherine has been charged.

Charged with shooting with intent, illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition is 24-year-old Romario Small, otherwise called ‘Tommy Lee’, of Backlands, Jones Avenue in the parish.

Allegations are that about 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, a police team was on patrol when they saw Small, who upon seeing them, pulled a firearm from his waistband and opened gunfire.

Small was later held by the police and was subsequently charged on Sunday after an interview.

His court date is being finalised.
