Trump reacts to Michelle Obama’s DNC speech: ‘Your husband’ is to blame
The president took to Twitter to call out Obama following her inspiring DNC message
President Donald Trump issued a response on Tuesday to Michelle Obama‘s powerful condemnation of his administration.
The former reality TV star, 74, blamed Obama’s husband, former president Barack Obama, for his leadership abilities over the past four years, explaining that he would have never been elected if not for Barack’s actions.

“Somebody please explain to @MichelleObama that Donald J. Trump would not be here, in the beautiful White House, if it weren’t for the job done by your husband, Barack Obama,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday morning.
He continued, “Biden was merely an afterthought, a good reason for that very late & unenthusiastic endorsement.”
Trump’s false accusations came just a few hours after Michelle, 56, delivered a blistering speech about the current president during the Democratic National Convention on Monday night. The Becoming author criticized Trump’s administration for their handling of the coronavirus pandemic and racial injustices in the U.S., amplifying the voices of white supremacists and more.
“…Going high means unlocking the shackles of lies and mistrust with the only thing that can truly set us free: the cold hard truth,” Michelle said in a pre-recorded message during the virtual event. “So let me be as honest and clear as I possibly can. Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head.”
She continued, “He cannot meet this moment. He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is.”
She went on to praise Joe Biden and urge people across the country to vote for the former vice president, who is running alongside his newly announced running mate Senator Kamala Harris.

“So if you take one thing from my words tonight, it is this: if you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can; and they will if we don’t make a change in this election,” Michelle added. “If we have any hope of ending this chaos, we have got to vote for Joe Biden like our lives depend on it.”
The U.S. presidential election will take place on Tuesday, November 3.
