The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms over Gauteng, the south-eastern parts of the North West and north-eastern parts of the Free State with heavy downpours and strong winds.
This may lead to the localised flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads, low-lying areas and bridges.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly becoming southerly to south-westerly north of Cape Columbine by late morning.

The western parts of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy with patches of mist in places in the north during the morning, otherwise fine and warm but cool along the coast and adjacent interior.

It will be cloudy and cool with rain in places south of the eastern parts of the escarpment in the morning, becoming partly cloudy from the west from the early afternoon.

In KwaZulu-Natal, it will be partly cloudy with morning rain except in the north-east and morning fog over the interior, otherwise cold to cool but warm in the north-east.
